The Positioning Australia Program is delivering everyday. Thousands of users from all around the country are accessing the accurate and reliable data from a national network of GNSS reference stations to obtain centimetre accurate positions in real-time. In this presentation we show how Geoscience Australia is collaborating with the state government and local industry to ensure South Australian spatial professionals have access to modern infrastructure to support their positioning needs now and into the future.
Through the Positioning Australia Program the Australian Government is investing $64 million to modernise and improve access to the nation’s valuable positioning infrastructure. Through the initial phase, the program is supporting the modernisation of 700 continuously operating reference stations across all regions of the country, including across South Australia.
Everyday thousands of users connect to this infrastructure to access the accurate and reliable data streams that enable them to position assets, layout plans and manoeuvre people, vehicles and drones all in real-time. A national capability like this cannot be achieved alone, it takes collaboration across all levels of government and industry. In this presentation we show how Geoscience Australia is collaborating with the state government and local industry to ensure that South Australia spatial professional have access to modern infrastructure that will support their positioning needs now and into the future.
