Byron is a Principal and leader of Deloitte’s space practice in Australia with 25+ years’ experience in the information and communications technology sector, including a strong focus on assisting high growth technology companies commercialise their innovative products and services. He has led business development in both early stage tech companies and well-established ICT firms with a substantial experience in channel sales into enterprise and government sectors, including defence. Byron has also led holistic industry development programs for the ICT industry across Australia.
Byron is a qualified Computer Systems engineer and his experience also includes a broad range of senior management roles focused on planning, ICT strategy development, digital economy policy and program development.
His recent experience includes establishing and leading the Gravity Challenge geospatial innovation program, engaging with local and international geospatial supply chain participants in Australia, Japan, UK, Germany, France, US and other regions to facilitate contracts for new and early stage offerings, leveraging geospatial data sets; and leading the project management office (PMO) for Deloitte’s role in designing and implementing Australia’s space mission control centre at Lot Fourteen, Adelaide, South Australia in collaboration with Saber Astronautics.
