Our emotions matter for better business outcomes. Working in fast-paced and changing environments, we all have experienced stress and conflict. Our Emotional Intelligence is critical to how we manage these situations, and ultimately, on our overall job performance. So, what is Emotional Intelligence, and can we improve it? And what is the role of mindful awareness in increasing EI and promoting our intrinsic motivation?
What sets a great leader apart from an average leader? What sets an organisation apart from the competitors?
Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognise and manage your own emotions and others around you effectively. Studies have shown a correlation between emotional intelligence and interpersonal functioning, leadership abilities, and stress management. Other studies have linked higher emotional intelligence with better job satisfaction as well as overall job performance.
Fortunately, like any skill, emotional intelligence can be learned and improved. This presentation will explore how this can be done in the workplace, as well as the role of organisational culture in assisting employees to practice and improve their emotional intelligence.
The presentation will also explore questions such as:
• How to transform ‘react’ to ‘respond’ and ultimately make better decisions?
• What is the role of mindful awareness?
• Can meditation improve emotional Intelligence?
