Specialist Talk Special Session

The 1990s were exciting times for spatial in South Australia. Government created a Spatial Project Team to establish the “framework and infrastructure” to facilitate greater spatial cooperation and collaboration between the public & private sectors. A key outcome of this initiative was building the skills base and creating capability to win large overseas contracts. SA was a spatial industry leader in Australia, especially in the application of spatial methods in government. Opinions may differ about what happened, but had the Spatial Program succeeded, it could have consolidated SA’s position. Twenty years have passed, did the Spatial Program make a difference?
