SID was held on 26 July 2000 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Spatial Information Day 1 was organised by SICOM to provide members of the spatial information community with an opportunity to hear about interesting and innovative applications of spatial information.
South Australia has, at any one time, a large number of spatial applications in progress. SICOM has recognised that there is currently no regular forum in this State for the exchange of information between members of the wider spatial community.
Spatial Information Day was the first of a proposed twice yearly event that will provide all practitioners with the opportunity to share achievements and knowledge with colleagues in a relaxed and informal environment. Spatial Information Day 1 was organised by the SICOM Information Awareness Working Group.
Three hundred and fifty people attended Spatial Information Day 1 from a broad cross section of the spatial community. They represented the three tiers of Government, academia, research and development institutions, academia and schools.
